I’m a foreign woman and I bought shoes in Shanghai

Just so you know, I’m a tall girl with size 9 feet. That’s about a 7 in the Uk, 39 in Europe and apparently 40 in China. Most shoes for women stop at size 38 here. Just so you know.

From a tiny boutique in Tianzifang, the artsy alleyway complex off Taikang Lu, I present you with the shoes that actually made it onto my ginormous feet.

For my big ol' laowai feet

I also found two pairs of jeans that fit. More on that miracle later.

I thought she would! There’s a whole little boutique the size of a cupboard that sells just embroidered cloth shoes. I’m definitely going back. If they have kid sizes, maybe I’ll grab Em a pair for my parents to bring back. Approx. size in inches/cm in length/width?

Miss y’all too. You may have noticed.

Those are some awesome shoes. Do they sell them in a size 10?

Maybe- can you wear a 41? I got a 40, I think, and I’m a 9. I think she said 41 was their biggest size. Amazing, really- usually they stop at 38.
